I received a call one of my sisters last night asking me for a large container of the Muscle/Pain Relief Salve. I previously gave her a small sample sometime in September for her to try out. She experiences arthritis pains in her hips and joints throughout her body.
I believe she didn't use the salve until the weather changed and her aches and pains started attacking the body. She indicated to me that she was in excruciating prior to using the salve and was AMAZED at the immediate relief she received after rubbing the salve on her aching parts. I guess she didn't believe me when I told her the wonderful benefits, but she's now a convert.
I'd like to take some time to highlight the benefits of a few of the ingredients in my salve. Namely: Arnica (being number one); Devil's Claw and Plantain Weed. As I think I've stated else where before, I only work with oils, powders (mainly for my deodorant and sunscreen), roots, flowers and essential oils. I believe in the power of nature's
In another story/experience, I have had a small subdermal cyst on my back for quite some time now. I recently rubbed it against a pole without any thoughts about. Two days later, I was in excruciating pain in my back and under my arm. I seriously thought that I had some sort of breast cancer issue going on. I immediately made an appointment to go see a dermatologist. Got my appointment and had a consultation a few days later.
The Dr. examined me and told me "oh not, it's just a subdermal cyst. Nothing to worry about. However, we can operate on your back and remove the cyst or another alternative would be to inject the area with steroids, which will help the inflammation go down faster and it will also help heal faster." I looked at her and told her that none of those options were going to work for me. I told her I was going home to rub my back with my muscle/pain relief salve with Arnica in it, starting tonight. So said, so done. I went home and rubbed that sucker from top to bottom (it was the size of a large pill bottle cap and all bruised and purple looking.) When I woke up the next morning, the pain had subsided under my arm and on my back. After that, I started rubbing before I left for work in the morning and before retiring to bed at night. Each day, it got better and less and less sore. It has been about one month, and it's almost healed completely. When I work out, I agitate it, so it's taking a little while longer to fully do it's thing. The point being, it worked and is working.
One thing you have to know about using natural remedies. It's not a quick fix like over the counter pain pill like oxycodone, etc. It works, but it takes time for the process to REALLY work. BE PATIENT! We all want everything to be solve in one dose. That's not how it works and definitely not how life works.
This is a lengthy post, but I wanted to highlight the benefits of this product and some the ingredients I chose to include in this product and why I chose them (see below).
Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope it has been helpful.
Arnica.
What is Arnica Used For? Arnica montana is one of the most beneficial substances available in nature’s pharmacopeia, with the power to relieve many of the common aches, pains, and injuries that arise in our daily lives. The main uses of Arnica include bruising, swelling, pain relief, arthritis, and injuries.
Arnica is one of the best remedies available to heal bruises faster. Falls, blows, and other traumas can cause blood vessels to break under your skin and spill blood, causing tenderness and discoloration. Arnica speeds up the healing process, prompting your body to send more white blood cells to clean up and repair the bruise.
Swelling - Nature’s anti-inflammatory, Arnica is well known for its ability to reduce swelling. Thus, it offers significant benefits in the treatment of sprains, strains, fractures, contusions, and other injuries. Some surgeons recommend Arnica as a remedy to reduce post-surgical swelling.
Arnica is a natural pain reliever that doesn’t just mask the pain; it actually stimulates your body’s healing processes. Arnica is especially recommended for pain that derives from trauma (such as a fall) or inflammation (such as arthritis). Arnica offers a safe alternative remedy for pain, without the risks associated with over-the-counter NSAIDs or prescription pain medicine.
Arnica can ease the pain and stiffness of arthritis, so you can move more freely. Studies have shown that applying Arnica gel or cream to an arthritic body part leads to significant improvement.1 Homeopathic pills or tablets for arthritis often include Arnica along with other natural remedies that benefit arthritis.
Arnica aids in the healing of many kinds of injuries, especially those that impact soft tissues. While not a substitute for appropriate medical care, Arnica can reduce pain and swelling from sprains, strains, fractures, bruises, overexertion, sore muscles, and more. Many people find that Arnica helps them recover much faster, so they can get back to the activities they love.
Other Benefits of Arnica
Here's still new discoveries and research being done in the full range of potential uses for Arnica. Some doctors and homeopaths recommend Arnica for uses that include childbirth, headaches, shock, burns, scars, acne, insect bites, mental burnout, tinnitus, and jet lag. In homeopathy, the course of treatment depends on the individual patient so, for best results, schedule a one-on-one consultation.
Devil's Claw
Devil’s claw is one of the most frequently used home remedies for arthritis. But that’s not the only way devil’s claw benefits the body. (1) Like turmeric, devil’s claw serves as a natural anti-inflammatory. Like the South American root, cat’s claw, devil’s claw is used to relieve the symptoms of arthritis and digestive problems.
Many are rethinking their stance on traditional painkillers because of the many side effects of these medications. Instead, they’re choosing to relieve pain through natural methods. For people suffering from arthritis and other forms of joint or back pain, this is where devil’s claw benefits come in.
It is also used alongside bromelain in some research as a way to relieve joint pain, particularly related to arthritis.
Even if you’re not looking for a pain remedy, you may still be interested to know the other devil’s claw benefits scientists have discovered. For example, there is at least one early report that it may have anticancer potential.
Plantain Weed
Plantain has gained the greatest reputation and is probably best know for its wound healing properties.
The astringent, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect of the plant makes it helpful in treating minor wounds, cuts, and scrapes. It can be applied directly to damaged skin in order to halt bleeding, speed up healing, stop itching and alleviate pain.
It is considered useful in treating snake and insects bites and stinging nettle rash.
In addition, the herb has been used to treat eczema, psoriasis and first degree burns.
So as you can see, I chose a variety of healing roots and weeds to include in my salve in addition to other wonderful healing herbs.
